Sara Geake has been the Grand Island Bureau Chief for KOLN/KGIN since June of 2006. While at 10/11, she's covered everything from murder investigations and the ice storm that left thousands of Nebraskans without power, to the nation's oldest worker and a man who tames horses before crowds at Husker Harvest Days. She's covered a lot of miles too, reporting from Nebraska's North, South, and West borders, and many places in between. Sara's favorite part of the job is talking with new people and learning something different every day.
Sara's roots lie just across the Missouri River in northwest Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 2006, while producing weekend shows for KGAN in Cedar Rapids.
Sara now calls Grand Island home. She likes getting both the big city and small town feel from one community.
In her spare time, Sara likes to be outdoors, see movies, listen to music, cheer on her favorite football team, the Iowa Hawkeyes (sorry Husker fans!), and spend time with her husband.
