Serese Cole joined the 10/11 News Team as the morning and noon show anchor in 2001 and has been the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. news anchor since 2004.
Serese came to KOLN/KGIN-TV from WDAF-TV in Kansas City, where she was an investigative reporter. She worked as the crime and courts reporter in Wilmington, North Carolina and reported in Tallahassee, Florida.
Serese was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated, with honors, from Florida A & M University, and earned a Bachelors of Science in Journalism.
Serese says when she made the move to Lincoln she quickly learned to embrace Husker football, Valentino's Pizza and the wonderful parks and trails Lincoln has to offer. She also became involved in the community - volunteering her time and service to a number of organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at Lighthouse, an after school program for at-risk youth.
More than anything, Serese says it's the people she has truly fallen in love with in Nebraska. In fact, she loved Nebraskans so much, she married one. Serese and Todd met shortly after she moved here and were married in 2003. They now have two sons, Tyler and Jordan.
Serese enjoys spending time with family, reading and exercising in her spare time, but says NEWS is in her blood. Her "need to know" desire started back in high school where she wrote for school paper. She enjoyed it so much, she thought she'd like to make a living asking tough questions.
To this day, Serese still gets excited about a good news story and says news is a good fit. She also says she's blessed to make a living doing something she loves.

Food: Anything on the menu at an Indian or Chinese Restaurant - although ice cream is her true weakness and she says will probably be her downfall in years to come.
Movies: Oldies but goodies; Grease, Terms Of Endearment and The Color Purple.
Music: Gospel, Classic 70s or 80s, Jazz and Easy Listening.
Travel Destinations: Jamaica (where she said "I do"), Victoria and Banff, and Hawaii.
