Kristen joined the 10/11 News team in September 2008. She produces the noon and 4pm newscasts.
She’s a born and bred Nebraskan, growing up in Omaha and attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she received a BA in Journalism - News Editorial. She also earned minors in Political Science, Biology and Sociology, and was actively involved in her sorority and student government.
After graduating, Kristen moved to Washington, D.C., and worked in Federal Affairs at the WDC office for a Property and Casualty Insurance Trade Association based out of Chicago.
Despite being away from home, Kristen stayed connected to her roots through her involvement in The Nebraska Society of Washington, Nebraska Congressional Breakfasts and, of course, eating an occasional ‘Runza’’ at Union Pub on Husker game day.
When Kristen’s not putting together a show, she enjoys going to concerts; drinking fine wine and aged cheese; getting lost in the mountains; wandering traveling trips; visiting civil war battlefields; sporting the Husker red at football games; talking politics; drinking a bold drip; sunsets at Johnson Lake; eating sweet corn on the grill; and spending time with her wonderful, retired parents, her cat, Mr. Jazz Man and visiting her brother and sister-in-law who are both Captains in the Air Force stationed at Creech and Nellis AFB in Las Vegas.
