Amber Smith joined the 10/11 News Team as a producer in May 2007. She's produced every show but primarily the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts. As the Senior Producer, Amber manages the team of producers, oversees content in newscasts and 1011now.com.
Amber is what you call a "webby" - always thinking web first and rallying the 10/11 News Team to give viewers the information when they want it and how they want it.
One of Amber's favorite moments while working at 10/11 is producing live coverage for the November 2008 election. "The election itself was one of the biggest in history and being able to bring results to viewers fast and flawless was an unforgettable feeling."
Amber got an early start in News by working as a reporter for her small town newspaper The Pender Times. Amber went on to work as a web producer at KHAS-TV News 5 in Hastings while getting her Bachelor's Degree in Media Production at Hastings College.
One of the reasons Nebraska will always be home for Amber is because of the close relationships she has with friends and family. She loves being a short drive away from her mom, Carol; dad, Jeff; and twin sister, Ashley. When she's not at work, Amber is usually still on the internet or reading, training for marathons with her mom and choreographing half time dance routines for Nebraska high schools.
