Matt joined the 10/11 Sports Team in September of 2011 after serving as Weekend Sports Anchor at KSNF (Joplin, MO) for over a year.

Matt joined the 10/11 Sports Team in September of 2011 after serving as Weekend Sports Anchor at KSNF (Joplin, MO) for over a year. He quickly began serving as a fill-in anchor for the 10/11 Sports Team, and in September 2012, became the main studio anchor on Husker gamedays.

Matt has strong Nebraska roots, he grew up in Omaha, where he attended Millard North High School. After spending a year at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, Matt earned his Bachelor's degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Before his television career began, Matt worked exclusively in radio. He served as the play-by-play announcer for the Omaha Beef from 2006 to 2010, and was a play-by-play announcer for UNO athletics from 2007 to 2010.

Matt is a diehard Creighton Bluejay fan and also cheers for his UNO Mavericks, but he has no qualms about rooting for Nebraska either, unless they're playing Creighton or UNO!

When Matt isn't working, you can usually find him on the golf course, the basketball court, or chasing around his one-month-old daughter. His wife, Blair, is a special events coordinator at a chiropractic office in Lincoln.
