Lincoln Irish Dancer's 15th Annual Public Social Dance (ceili)
Mar 10, 2013 6:30pm - 9pm; Doors open at 6pm
Auld Pavilion, 1650 Memorial Park Dr. in Antelope Park, Lincoln
The Lincoln Irish Dancers are hosting their 15th Annual Public Social Dance (ceili - pronounced kaylee) and you are invited! This is the biggest Irish dance party in Nebraska and people of all ages attend this gala event!
The annual fundraiser is always held the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day.
This is a great family event with a raffle, free trinkets & face stickers for the kids, and free refreshments. Live music by the band, Miles From Dublin and no need for prior dance experience with a genuine Irishman, Eamonn de Cogain, calling the dances. Éamonn is widely regarded as Ireland's most energetic emcee. He has called ceilis far and wide across the Emerald Isle and is now developing a name for himself stateside. A native of Cork, Ireland, he has traveled all across Europe and America dancing to crowds of all sizes.
He will also be hosting a set dance workshop at the YWCA (26th & O) 4-5pm the same day. This would be ideal for anyone interested in folk dancing, not just Irish. Registration for this workshop is $25.
Even for those who don't wish to dance, you can always enjoy the lively toe-tapping Irish music at our ceili! It's a great way to celebrate the St. Patrick's Day season when everyone becomes Irish.
Ceili Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for students, with a family cap of $30
