A ninth person has died from injuries suffered in Tuesday's tornado in Lone Grove, Oklahoma.

The latest victim was a man who had been transferred to a hospital in Dallas. Some victims were killed by flying debris. One man died when a pickup truck fell on him.

Lone Grove residents were allowed to return to their devastated community Wednesday after crews searched the ruins for more victims. The town is about 100 miles south of Oklahoma City.

The National Weather Service says the twister had winds estimated at 170 mph and remained on the ground for more than an hour.
