The City of Grand Island has declared a snow emergency.
The snow emergency is in effect from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm Friday.
During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all snow emergency routes.
These routes are identified by the red, white and blue snow emergency signs posted every few blocks.
The police department will enforce the no parking policy during the snow emergency.
Parked and/or abandoned vehicles on emergency snow routes are subject to being towed away.
Citizens are encouraged to limit vehicle travel during the snow emergency or until streets are cleared.
Residents along snow emergency routes are reminded that snowplows may throw snow on curb sidewalks.
It is suggested that curb sidewalks not be cleared until after the snow route has been cleared.
