Authorities are reporting at least one person killed and 16 others injured after severe storms hit Georgia and Alabama.
The severe weather front brought hail, lightning and tornadoes, as well as downed trees and power lines.
In Georgia, an emergency official says as many as 100 structures were damaged in one county. The storms also damaged at least two schools south of Atlanta. The National Weather Service confirms that three tornadoes touched down in central Georgia.
Georgia Power has reported more than 4,000 customers lost power at the height of the storms last night. Power has now been restored to nearly all of those.
