The main interstate that links northern Nevada and California is open again, after being shut down late Tuesday because of whiteout conditions.

The snowy conditions led to a number of spinouts and jackknifed trucks.

The highway patrol is warning travelers to be ready for slow going.

As much as 6 feet of snow is on the ground at higher elevations around Lake Tahoe.

An avalanche at the Squaw Valley USA ski resort killed a veteran ski patrol member who was working on avalanche control Tuesday.

The Sierra Avalanche Center says avalanche danger is high Wednesday on steep terrain.
