Storm Overturns Semi

Overturned truck from Monday, March 23, 2009.

While severe storms blew through southeast Nebraska Monday afternoon, a semi was blown over on to its side east of Bennet.

The Semi was headed eastbound on Highway 2 a couple miles east of Bennet when the storm overturned the vehicle, blocking one eastbound and westbound lane in the process.

Traffic headed in both directions was limited to one lane while the semi laid on its side.

The condition of the driver is not yet known.

If I'm not mistaken, this was closer to the Palmyra district. So thank you to the fire department for all your help.

My dad and I drove past it after being hit by some very heavy winds and tornado-like storm...
