Weather Radio Based in Giltner Temporarily Down

Beginning on Monday, June 1st, 2009, technicians will begin to install a new antenna for All Hazards NOAA Weather Radio Station WXL-74 which operates on a frequency of 162.400 megahertz. WXL-74 broadcasts from a tower near Giltner, Nebraska and serves a large portion of south central Nebraska.

Listeners of weather radio station WXL-74 should anticipate the station being off the air beginning Monday, June 1, and lasting potentially through Wednesday, June 3rd. Weather conditions will influence the tower work schedule, and the National Weather Service in Hastings will update the status of the transmitter and the expected return time of the broadcast.
