A strong hailstorm passed through Thayer County, in South Central Nebraska near the Kansas border, Wednesday afternoon.
Kathy Berry, who lives in Chester, Nebraska said jagged golf ball to tennis ball-sized hail fell for about five minutes around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. She said the hail broke out the back window of her car, which was parked near her home.
There are also other reports of hail as big as baseballs falling near Chester.
The storm also dropped large hail in Reynolds, Neb, about 15 miles east of Chester. It appears to have moved eastward along the Nebraska-Kansas border. We've received reports of hail damage at Odell in southern Gage County.
A tornado watch is in effect until 9:00 p.m. for much of central and eastern Nebraska.
