A morning thunderstorm brought high winds and heavy rain to Lincoln Monday. It hit the city about 7:45 a.m.

The storm toppled a large tree onto Pioneers Boulevard near 79th Street. The tree blocked part of the westbound lanes of Pioneers, but crews with Lincoln Parks & Recreation had the mess cleaned up by mid-morning.

The storm dropped heavy rain in a short period of time, and caused some brief flooding in streets and yards.

Lancaster County Emergency Management Director Doug Ahlberg says there were no reports of damage in Lancaster County.
