Nebraska Public Power District has updated its special Web site devoted to energy and the American Clean Energy and Security Act pending before Congress.
NPPD says the site, Itsyourpower.org, explains where NPPD gets the electricity that it sells wholesale or retail to about a million Nebraskans. NPPD also says the site discusses the challenges that climate-change legislation could present to NPPD and its customers.
President and CEO Ron Asche says NPPD's "combination of a diverse generation portfolio and increasing renewable energy generation shows NPPD has a logical approach to further reduce our carbon emissions."
The energy bill would require power plants, industrial facilities and refineries to cut carbon dioxide and other climate-changing pollution.
