Several schools in Nebraska's Panhandle closed in anticipation of the storm Wednesday.
Great Lakes Aviation canceled a late-morning flight from and to Denver.
The National Weather Service says more than a foot of snow from the slow-moving storm is expected over the Panhandle, with less snow falling to the east.
