Landowner rights, state and federal policies, and siting considerations will be among the topics explored at an upcoming wind power conference.
The Nebraska Wind Power 2009 Conference will be held in Kearney on Nov. 9-10.
The conference will feature the release of a task force's findings on the impact of adding different amounts of wind energy to the Nebraska grid. It also will discuss changes associated with Nebraska joining the Southwest Power Pool.
Governor Dave Heineman is scheduled as keynote speaker.
Organizers say the conference is structured so that people from a wide range of interests and perspectives will have the opportunity to socialize and exchange ideas.
