I 25 Cheyenne Port of Entry - mm 6.35
Snowfall has ended but highway traffic remains at a standstill across southeast Wyoming.
The reason is gusty winds that are blowing snow over the roads.
Nearly every major interstate and highway in southeast Wyoming remained closed Friday morning. That includes I-80 east of Rawlins, I-80 from the Cheyenne area to Laramie, and I-25 from the Colorado line to the Wheatland area.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect for southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. The National Weather Service says gusts of 40 mph or more will reduce visibility to near zero.
The snowstorm that began Tuesday night dumped about a foot of snow on the Cheyenne area.
