Lincoln Public Works crews worked through the snow fall Sunday night to make sure streets were safe to drive on.

The City had 18 Public Works crews out plowing and spreading salt since 8 p.m. Sunday night to get streets ready for the Monday morning rush.

Crews have been focusing on emergency snow routes, major arterials, bus routes and the areas around schools.

Authorities say parking bans are not in effect.

I thought they did a great job with the roads, I was out at 6:00 this morning and had no trouble getting to Lincoln or driving in Lincoln.

I suppose that if the Maint. Dep't doesn't spend all the snow removal budget, they will lose it --- or somenthin' stupid like that. Maybe they got all excited since there hasn't been much snow this year in Lincoln? By the way, sometimes a little snow can be a real slick mess.

With 18 crews working on an inch of snow, they should be doing the icy side streets also. Guess it is time to burn some of that excess taxpayer money.

I'm happy to pay them to clear the streets. Better that than be late Monday morning stuck in traffic with the many people who can't figure out how to drive in these conditions.

Yes it is a waste of resources but if they don't do anything then people complain that the roads are bad. So it is a catch 22

Eighteen crews out for like an inch of snow. What a total waste of resources.
