After Saturday's winter storm, around 5,000 people in the capital city were in the dark.
Lincoln Electric System expects every customer to have their power back by Sunday night and it's all thanks to the hard work of the linemen.
They're the heroes of LES: linemen working around the clock to get the lights back on the in the capital city.
A heavy snow means a busy day for Nathan Houska and Rick Hasenphlug.
Houska says, "Just the snow is weighting the branches down, getting the lines and wires together so we're just trimming trees as we need and knocking off snow as we need and moving on the the next job."
The snow is deep and the air is cold, but for these guys, it's another day on the job.
Hasenphlug says, "You don't really recognize the cold when you're working. You just work through it and worry about that later."
It's not just the hard, physical work - these guys are tired.
They worked 16 hours Saturday and were back for another long day by 6:00 AM Sunday.
Rick says there comes a time when they just have to stop.
But there's one thing that keeps them going - knowing their grueling efforts really do make a difference.
Thankfully, these heroes of the electric company do get a couple days off once the work is done.
That is, until the next storm hits.
