A new tropical depression has formed in the Atlantic as Hurricane Isaac closes in on the Gulf Coast.
The new depression has maximum sustained winds near 35 mph and the U.S. National Hurricane Center says it could strengthen to a tropical storm in the next day or so. The hurricane center says it's not a threat to land.
The depression is centered about 1,270 miles east-northeast of the Lesser Antilles and is moving west-northwest near 10 mph.
