While most major roads in Lincoln are clear today, some neighborhoods are still snowed in.
Ed Love has lived in southeast Lincoln, near 40th and Calvert Streets for more than 25 years. He says the number of trees on his street makes for tough going when it comes to leaving his house.
Love says "This one is flanked by trees so the snow piles up like crazy. We actually bought a better car that has all wheel drive just so that we could get up the street in the winter. "
A Lincoln Parks and Recreation Crew removed a number of branches obstructing Love's street today. The crew says it's not only hard for drivers like Love to make it through some of the older Lincoln neighborhoods, it is difficult for them as well.
Brian Kurpgeweit has performed tree removal for Lincoln Parks and Rec for two years. He says it's always a team effort to get all of Lincoln's roads cleared.
Kurpgeweit says that the "Main streets are in pretty good shape but in these older neighborhoods we're not sure what's all broke yet, the trees are still so low most of the plow trucks can't even get down the side streets.
