The University of Nebraska Kearney is hosting a public stargazing event.
Tickets are available on a first-come, first served basis for the Friday show, which starts at 7 p.m. at the Bruner Hall of Science planetarium. Admission is free, but organizers are accepting donations of dry or canned goods for a local food pantry.
Presenter Dan Glomski will give the audience a tour of the current sky, highlighting bright stars, constellations, planets and other points of interest. Each planetarium show has an associated theme that connects the sights, making them easier for audience members to remember and find on their own.
An encore show will begin at 8 p.m. if there first presentation sees an overflow audience.
