Forecast for Central and Eastern Nebraska

SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 2015

Warming trend is kicking off the weekend. State is cut in half by a stationary front, that means for the next 2 days Eastern Nebraska will be cooler than Western Nebraska. Today North Platte climbs up to the 70s... 60s for Tri-Cities... upper 50s for Lincoln. Sunday morning might find a few quick, light rain showers... not much expected in the rain gauge... clearer skies by the afternoon has Lincoln up to the middle 60s for Sunday. Then Monday and Tuesday... many locations forecast to see highs in the 70s.

A cold front will move through the area Wednesday bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Best chance for rain right now seems to be mid-week when that cold front moves through... temps will dip to the 60s to end off the week.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy, warmer and breezy. Highs in the mid 50s to low 60s. Southeast winds at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms overnight. Lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s. South winds at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

SUNDAY: Partly cloudy and windy. 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms early. Highs in the low to mid 60s. North-northwest winds at 15 to 30 mph with higher gusts possible.
