Our weather will start to shift to a more typical late-spring pattern as we head deeper into the work week. The cloudy, breezy and cool weather of the past few days will be replaced by more sunshine...a bit of a warming trend...and periodic rounds of thunderstorms...as we move towards and into the upcoming holiday weekend. An upper-level trough of low pressure is forecast to anchor itself to our west...and spin small disturbances our way from Friday through at least Wednesday of next week. It's too early to tell right now what the exact timing for thunderstorms will be...but the chance that some of your outdoor plans will get rained on is very good. It is also quite likely that some strong-to-severe thunderstorms will occur at times...so we once again remind you stay current with the latest forecasts...especially if you plan on spending much of the weekend outside camping in area parks, grilling on the deck or using area pools. A Midland Weather Radio will come in handy.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy with some isolated showers possible into the evening. Lows in the low 40s to near 50. North winds at 8 to 18 mph...with gusts over 20 mph at times.
THURSDAY: Some morning cloudiness...then becoming partly to mostly sunny and a little warmer. Highs in the mid 60s to low 70s. East winds of 10 to 20 mph...gusts to 25 mph possible.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with a slight chance for a late-night shower or thunderstorm in Central Nebraska. Lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. Southeast winds of 10 to 20 mph.
FRIDAY: Variable cloudiness, breezy and milder with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Southeast winds of 10 to 20 mph...gusts to 30 mph
