Forecast for Central and Eastern Nebraska

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 2013

Breezy, warmer and more humid conditions will be developing over the next few days across 10-11 Country. Increasing southerly winds will draw gulf moisture into the region...setting the stage for highs in the 90s and periodic thunderstorm activity. This is expected to be our longest stretch of very warm and very humid conditions so far...so make sure you are prepared for the changes. Sunny and dry conditions will dominate much of the time...but weak waves aloft and leftover outflow boundaries will give us a continued chance for thunderstorms both early and late in the day right through Sunday. Some strong-to-severe 'storms will be possible at times...but timing those episodes will be difficult...so please check in with the 10-11 Weather Team each day...morning, noon and night...we'll help keep updated and informed.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Variable cloudiness with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening...then a 30% chance for thunderstorms from late tonight into Thursday morning. Lows in the mid 60s to around 70. South-southeast winds of 8 to 18 mph...with gusts to 20 or 25 mph at times.

THURSDAY: A 30% chance for morning showers and thunderstorms...then partly cloudy with a 20% chance for showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Breezy, warmer and more humid. Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. South-southeast winds of 10 to 20 mph...with gusts to 30 mph possible.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, breezy and muggy...with a 30% chance for showers and thunderstorms...an isolated strong-to-severe thunderstorm will be possible. Lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. South-southeast winds of 8 to 18 mph...gusts to 25 mph at times.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, breezy, hot and humid...with a 20% chance for thunderstorms. Highs in the low to mid 90s. South winds of 10 to 20 mph...with gusts to 30 mph.
