Forecast for Central and Eastern Nebraska

FRIDAY, MAY 24, 2013

A trough of low pressure to our west is expected to eject several disturbances across the region through the upcoming weekend and even into next week. The result will be breezy, warmer and more humid conditions...with periodic thunderstorm chances each day. Some strong-to-severe 'storms will be possible during this stretch. This is a tough-to-pin-down weather pattern for several reasons. The disturbances approaching from the west can be hard to track...cloud cover from overnight thunderstorms may impact the amount of afternoon heating and instability...and decaying thunderstorms may leave weak outflow boundaries, where thunderstorms may initiate later in the day. With that in mind...and with graduations and outdoor activities sure to be widespread...we ask you to please stay up-to-date with daily forecasts. It will not be raining all weekend long...but timing the thunderstorm activity will be difficult...be prepared for some disruption of your plans...and check in with the 1011 Weather Team over the next few days. Be safe.
