Lincoln’s Response to COVID-19

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and health officials updated the community on the City’s efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus at a briefing on Tuesday.

The LLCHD announced that three more residents have died from COVID-19. The total number of deaths in Lancaster County is now 150.

The deaths included two men in their 60s and 70s who were hospitalized. On behalf of the City, Mayor Gaylor Baird expresses condolences to their families and friends.

LLCHD reports 153 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lancaster County today, bringing the community total to 22,236.

Recoveries: up from 6,506 to 6,601

Weekly positivity rate:

December 20 through 26: 27.3 percent

December 27 through 29: 25.8 percent

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 positive patients: 101 with 58 from Lancaster County (four on ventilators) and 43 from other communities (three on ventilators).
