WATCH: Car nearly strikes two people in chain reaction crash on Highway 2
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A car nearly struck two people after a crash on Highway 2 and 120th Street on Jan. 16. The Lancaster Sheriff’s Office responded to a jackknifed semi on Saturday at 5:39 a.m. Shortly after the semi jackknifed, a vehicle struck the the trailer of the semi and stopped at the side of the road.
While LSO deputies were on the scene, a second vehicle struck the trailer of the semi, nearly striking a tow truck driver who was working on the vehicle. The second car then slid and struck the first car, nearly striking the car’s driver.
No injuries were reported by LSO. However, LSO wishes to remind drivers to be careful while driving on icy roads.
“We’re just educating people,” said LSO Chief Deputy Ben Houchin. “We’re lucky we did not lose two people that day.”
