LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Playing for the first time in more than 400 days, the Nebraska volleyball team swept Indiana in its long-awaited season opener. The 5th-ranked Huskers were led by Lexi Sun’s 11 kills. Nebraska trailed only once against the Hoosiers in the three-set sweep (25-22, 25-20, 25-17).

Newcomer Kayla Caffey had 6 kills in her Husker debut, while returning All-American Lauren Stivrins contributed 9 kills. As a team, Nebraska had a .317 hitting percentage against the Hoosiers. However, the Huskers were inconsistent at the service line with eight errors.

The two teams will play again on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. The game will not be televised, though fans can watch with an online video subscription through BTN-Plus.
