Doane Head Track and Field Coach Ed Fye was recently named the NAIA Co-Coach of the Year for the men’s outdoor track and field season. The announcement was made at the NAIA Outdoor Championships meet during the trophy presentation but was not made available to the public. This is the first time that Fye has received the honor.

Fye and his coaching staff led the Tiger men to a shared national championship with Madonna (Mich.) as both teams finished the NAIA meet with 44 team points. This was the men’s first NAIA National Championship. Doane finished with a NAIA-best 15 All-Americans from 12 events.

Earlier in May, Fye was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Coach of the Year after the team won the outdoor conference title and the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men’s Midwest Region Coach of the Year.

This year was the 19th season of the Doane Track and Field program under Fye’s leadership.
