LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The College World Series starts on the on June 19, and Super Regionals begin on Friday. One Saltdogs player knows the experience of dog-piling in Omaha after winning the CWS.

Catcher and first baseman Zak Taylor is in his first year with the Saltdogs. He’s from Oregon and grew up watching and dreaming of playing for Oregon State.

He witnessed their back to back CWS wins in 2006 and 2007. he even had a 2007 Beavers poster framed in his room growing up. Fast forward about ten years and one of his favorite baseball memories is winning the 2018 CWS with OSU.

“The people in Omaha and just how we were treated and the set up there was just state of the art,” said Zak Taylor. “I always tell people that if you get the chance you should go.”

He also jokes with teammate Ryan Long who made it to Omaha with Texas tech in 2014 and 2016 but fell short of the title.

“Being able to dog pile at the end with our team because we didn’t dog pile in the regional or super regional and we told ourselves were going to dog-pile when we win the whole thing,” said Taylor. “So we were able to do that, and I’ll never forget that feeling.”
