Fire causes $26,900 in damage to north Lincoln mobile home
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to a fire in north Lincoln on Monday.
The fire started at a mobile home near North 20th Street and Bellville Drive at around 3:30 p.m.
According to LFR, units enroute to the address reported seeing heavy black smoke, and as they arrived, they saw thick brown smoke coming from all four sides of the structure’s eaves and heavy flames from the back of the double wide mobile home.
LFR said crews went inside to search for occupants but evacuated and were forced to reevaluate due to the intense heat and thick smoke all the way to the floor. The roof collapsed in the back of the home soon after.
The fire was declared under control several minutes after, LFR said.
The homeowner arrived after the fire started and told LFR nobody was in the home. The homeowner said a dog may have been inside the mobile home, but the dog was later found outside in a pen.
LFR said the fire caused $26,900 in damage.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
Nobody was injured in the fire.
