Jon Vanderford is an Emmy Award winning journalist who wears many hats! He serves as the anchor, executive producer, writer, photographer, editor, etc. for 10/11's Pure Nebraska. You can catch the show weekdays at 9 a.m. and on Sundays at 7:30 a.m.
Jon is a Nebraska native, growing up in Murdock. He attended the University of Nebraska where he met his wife and now co-anchor Taryn. They both played saxophone in the Cornhusker Marching Band.
Having a career in broadcasting is always interesting, and can lead to unexpected and wonderful adventures! Jon started his career at 10/11 in college. He then reported, anchored and served as a weather forecaster in St. Josesph, MO. The path led him to Knoxville, TN for seven years and station WATE. There, Jon was an anchor and reporter for various newscasts. In 2003, Jon returned to the 10/11 to serve as the evening anchor until 2010 when he was paired up with his wife as co-anchors.
Jon appreciates the honors and awards he's received over his career, but he truly values the relationships he's made with all the people along the way!
