Blue Valley Community Action Partnership (BVCA) was officially incorporated on January 19, 1966. BVCA is a private, non-profit organization. BVCA Partnership operates over 30 programs that interact and complement each other. Our programs are as diverse as the communities and families we serve. Our Service area includes Butler, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Polk, Saline, Seward, Thayer and York counties in Nebraska. Limited services are also provided in Pawnee, Nemaha, Johnson and Richardson Counties in Nebraska.

Our Focus, as an organization, has been to develop community activities that eliminate the causes of poverty and to ameliorate the condition of poverty within our area. We have flexibility to try new approaches with out core funding resource and we mobilize local, state and national resources to provide the activities and services needed for motivating individuals and creating opportunities for self-sufficiency. Some services are traditional, but innovation is an important part of our organization. The organization has a history of establishing solutions to area needs.

Foster Grandparent Program:
When you share you love, time, and experience, you have the power to help a child who needs you. If you’re age 55 or older and want to share you experience and compassion, you have what it takes to be a Foster Grandparent.

As a Foster Grandparent, You’re a role model, a mentor, and a friend. Serving at one of thousands of local organizations – including faith-based groups, Head Start Centers, schools, and other youth facilities – you help children learn to read, provide one-on-one tutoring, and guide children at a critical time in their lives. Put simply, you give the kind of comfort and love that sets a child on the path toward a successful future.

Foster Grandparents serve up to 40 hours per week. Some volunteers may qualify to earn a tax-free, hour stipend. With Foster Grandparents, you’ll receive pre-service orientation, training from the organization where you serve, and supplemental accident and liability insurance while on duty.
