KNOP News Reporter

KNOP-TV, the NBC affiliate serving the North Platte, Nebraska, region is looking for a News Reporter to tell compelling stories on various platforms. he perfect candidate will be able to shoot, interview, edit, and present their story for live broadcasts and online. You will be required to generate story ideas and be flexible in breaking news coverage. This reporter will be required to maintain a social media presence and also make appearances on behalf of the station.

General Responsibilities:
*Gather the region's news and dig deep into stories and data for stories that make a difference.
*Write accurate stories with the ability to weave pictures and natural sound into your story telling.
*Use non-linear editing equipment.
*Demonstrate good news judgement.
*Operate news gathering equipment (cameras, iphones, tablets, TVU Anywhere apps).
*Utilize TVU backpacks and on-call satellite technology.
*Embrace cross-training in news and sports allowing each staffer to shoot, write, edit, report, produce, and anchor.
*Follow clothing and appearance guidelines.
*Work various shifts as assigned and expect holiday hours.
*Any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
College degree in Broadcasting or Journalism is preferred. Familiarity with iNews, Sony ENG, Avid, TVU, and Clickability a plus.

Applicants must have a valid Driver’s License with good driving record. Employment is contingent on successfully passing drug screen and driving record check.
