LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - System number two rides across the area Saturday afternoon and into Saturday night with some leftover light snow showers lasting into Sunday morning.
Accumulating snow will once again be quite likely with north central and northeastern Nebraska expected to see the most. Lighter snowfall amounts will be expected along and south of Interstate 80.
While snow chances continue to garner the bigger weather headlines because of their effect on travel, cold temperatures will also be a weather "player" this weekend. Highs in the teens and lower 20s for Saturday and Sunday along with overnight lows in the single digits are well-below the seasonal averages even for mid-February. No real improvement in our cold-and-snowy late-winter weather pattern is anticipated for next week with snow chances returning for the Tuesday-Wednesday time frame and again Friday-Saturday...and so it goes.
