3K in tools stolen from work truck

LINCOLN, Neb. – Lincoln Police are investigating after $3,000 worth of tools were stolen from a company putting up street lights for the city of Lincoln.

LPD said on Jan. 6 around 8:30 p.m., a project manager reported a number of tools had been stolen from a work truck.

The company was in town to put up street lights, LPD said, and had rented a parking lot near the 5100 Block of N 48th Street.

The work trucks were parked in the lot from Jan. 3 to Jan. 6, according to LPD.

Police said there was over $10,000 in damage to the truck from someone prying the compartments open to access tools.
