Lincoln,Neb.- Over 6,000 runners participated in this years Good Life Halfsy Half-Marathon.

The 13.1 mile race started at Seacrest Field and ended in the Railyard.

Cheer stations were set at six different locations each sponsored by different companies in Lincoln.

"We try to do is spell out every runners name individually, so as many as we can we do our best. then we cheer for them and just encourage everyone as they go," said Marcus Quevedo with Bulu Box.

Quevedo says the Good Life Halfsy is a great time to make a connection with the people of Lincoln.

"It's been great to get our business out there and let people know what we're doing, all while cheering runners on," said Quevedo.

The race took runners through some of Lincoln's most scenic spots, including Holmes Lake, Union Plaza, ballparks and stadiums to finish on Canopy Street in the Railyard.

This is the third year for the Good Life Halfsy.

This years first place runner was Alvaro Sanabria. Online results show he finished in a time of 1:07:32.6.

"It felt really good. it was nice to come out here, compete and win a race," said Sanabria.

Sanabria has been running all his life, and now runs as a professional. Sanabria says this race was long but the cheers and the beautiful views made it worth it.

"The atmosphere was awesome, their was a lot of great support, and really loud cheering," said Sanabria.

Some would call this race a half marathon, but in Lincoln it's called the Halfsy.
