An art studio in town is getting into the Christmas spirit with drawings, paintings and sculptures for people to give as holiday presents.

Live Yes Studio is only for adults with disabilities. They've been teaching art in the community for more than six years and says it gives their clients a new purpose.

"I love it here," said Kayla McCall.

"I really enjoy being here," said Alyssa Ross.

Kayla and Alyssa are just a couple of the artists at Live Yes who make and sell their own art.

"For seven hours a day give days a week they know they can count on us and we can count on them and it's just a big old family here," said the Studio Director Craig Casados.

They make art projects ranging from painting to sculptures.

"I made a very special lantern," said Alyssa.

Alyssa's lantern is part of the holiday pieces many of the artists have been working on. For her, art helps her express feelings, and it means a lot when other people see beauty in what she creates.

"I am so ecstatic that they love my art and I hope that when they buy it they'll show other people then they want to buy my art," said Alyssa.

Director of the studio, Craig Casados, said the best part is rewarding his clients.

"The smile that you get when they see the hard work that took them maybe six months to accomplish that I can give them something for it, that's beyond amazing," said Casados.

But art isn't the only thing the studio teaches them.

"I play piano. I play piano by myself. Nobody didn't teach me," said William Asbury.

For William Christmas at the studio maybe the only time he celebrates but they told 10/11, at the studio everyone is family.

"I always feel threatened in the world because no one understands me but around here everyone understands everybody," said Alyssa.

"I love this place, everything, because it's my home," said Kayla.

Live Yes does first Friday of the month art shows. January's is at the tug boat. But you don't have to wait to shop. They sell art everyday at the studio and encourage people to check it out for any holiday gifts. They are located at 1233 Arapahoe Street, Suite 300 Lincoln, NE 68502.
