Amtrak train stalled multiple hours in central Nebraska

HOLDREGE, Neb. (KSNB)- Amtrak passengers were stalled near Oxford for multiple hours on Tuesday after a possible train derailment slowed things down.

Officials said the Amtrak train stalled for from about 2:00 a.m. until about 8:45 a.m.

During the time of the hiatus passengers did have power and had access to food and a working bathroom.

We're told the train, which is expected to make it's next stop in McCook at 1:03 p.m. central time will be coming in just over 9 hours later.

Local4 has reached out to Burlington Northern Santa Fe for information on the possible derailment.
