LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The 10/11 NOW Weather team has issued a Weather Alert Day for Thursday. An upper-level disturbance will move through the area Wednesday night into Thursday. Rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow are possible.
Snow will be likely much of the day on Thursday. Snowfall accumulation of 1 to 3” is possible across much of Central and Eastern Nebraska.
It should be breezy Thursday as well with north-northwest winds at 10 to 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
The snow and an increasing northwesterly breeze may impact your morning commute.
Precipitation is expected to wind down later Thursday night as temperatures turn chillier. Skies on Friday will be partly-to-mostly cloudy and temperatures will be a bit colder but the balance of the day is expected to be precipitation-free with highs in the mid 20s to lower 30s.
We finally get a bit of a break in this icy weather pattern over the weekend with some sunshine expected as temperatures moderate into the lower-to-mid 30s Saturday and then the upper 30s to lower 40s by Sunday.
