LINCOLN, Neb. – Aubrey Trail, a person of interest in the disappearance and death of 24-year-old Sydney Loofe, told a reporter Wednesday night he was responsible for the young woman’s death.
According to the Omaha World Herald, in a phone conversation with one of their reporters, Trail said “I am accountable for it,” adding reasons will come out a later time. Trail did not mention where or how Loofe died, nor did he say why.
Currently, Trail is being held in a maximum security facility in Kansas, and is scheduled to appear in federal court via video monitor on Thursday for unrelated federal fraud charges.
Trail said in the conversation that he told authorities “a long time ago” that he was responsible for Loofe’s death, and that his girlfriend, 24-year-old Bailey Boswell, had nothing to do with it.
Boswell is being held in Saline County Jail on unrelated federal charges. She plead not guilty to nine counts of interstate transportation of stolen property in Federal Court on Monday.
No charges have been brought against Trail or Boswell in connection to Loofe’s death.
Trail showed frustration with authorities in his phone interview, saying the FBI “has pulled so many hairs out of my head I’ve got a bald spot.”
Trail’s attorney, Korey Reiman told 1011 NOW he had no comment on Thursday morning.
