LANCASTER COUNTY - The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said Joel Watermeier, 49, who was wanted on three felony warrants, was arrested in Grand Island on Wednesday night.

LSO has been searching for Watermeier since late September.

Authorities said he was taken into custody without incident.

Watermeier was wanted on warrants for 1st degree assault, 1st degree false imprisonment and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Watermeier was wanted in connection to an incident on Sept. 19, when he allegedly assaulted two people he was living with.

Lincoln Police said he assaulted the 35-year-old male and 36-year-old female with a baseball bat, and wouldn't let them leave.

Eventually he drove them in the direction of the hospital, but wouldn't stop. The victims were forced to jump out of the vehicle when it came to a brief stop.

Watermeier was also involved in an officer-involved shooting in 2002. He proceeded to serve 13 years in prison.
