CASS COUNTY, Neb. -- The owner of the Cass County property on which authorities say a cock-fighting ring was discovered last month has been found dead.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday that Marvin Vogler, was found dead at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in a field on his property, located off of Highway 50. He was reported missing on Monday.

Authorities said they were tipped off to a cock-fighting ring on Vogler's property on Nov. 24, which resulted in the arrests of 32 people. The humane society was able to rescue 186 roosters and found another 11 dead.

Vogler said after the arrests that a man named Walter, who he sold chickens to for 15 years, had asked if he could use the barn for a Thanksgiving party that day, and said he had no idea what was really going on.

The sheriff's office said foul play is not suspected at this time, and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
