85 plow crews are out on Lincoln streets

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - 85 city crews are currently working on arterial streets as a winter storm rolls through Lincoln.

11th & Cornhusker around 8:15 a.m.

The city of Lincoln says the plow crews are now clearing arterial streets, bus and school routes and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine as needed. Crews report snow-packed street conditions.

Drivers should be alert for black ice and slick spots, especially in untreated areas.

As of Friday at 12:25 p.m., Lincoln Police have responded to 11 accidents, a number they say is low for the conditions. They credit LPS with cancelling school for the low number of crashes.
