A 78-year-old woman was arrested for DUI after striking a construction worker in the area of 31st and Superior streets on Wednesday afternoon.

The call came into authorities around 2:41 p.m., and officers discovered Janet Lubben, 78, hit a construction worker, and attempted to flee the scene.

The construction worker suffered life-threatening injuries, and was transported to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Police said Lubben was traveling westbound in the area when she hopped the median into the eastbound lanes. A short distance later, Lubben crossed the median again.

34-year-old Gromyko Roby, of Omaha, was walking in the median when he was struck by the vehicle.

Lubben attempted to flee the scene, and eventually came to a stop in the area of 27th and Superior streets. She was found unconscious.

Lubben was taken to the hospital, and after she was medically cleared, she was cited and lodged for DUI while causing serious bodily injury, and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
