Lincoln Police are asking for help identifying a man who broke into First Plymouth Preschool, near 20th and E Streets, on September 13, 2018.

Police said staff at First Plymouth Preschool reviewed surveillance video and found a man wandering the halls of the school.

"They then noticed on video that he picked up what they thought was an iPad that they use to check students in and out of class for the day," said Lincoln Police Officer Chassidy Jackson Goodwin.

The man disappeared from the surveillance video, but before he left the school, police said he put a second iPad inside his jacket. While police would like to recover the iPads, they said it's more than the theft that is concerning.

"Whether it's regarding larcenies, or just a suspicious person that's in the school that's not supposed to be in there, safety is our number one priority for any situation -- especially at the schools. Entering the school and wandering the halls, anything could happen in that situation. Fortunately it was just a couple of iPads that were taken," said Officer Jackson Goodwin.

If you recognize this man, or have heard anything about this case, you can call Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.

"It's very important for us to reach out to the community. They have more eyes than we do and they're able to be more places than we, as police officers, are able to be. So they're able to see these types of things, gather that information, and forward it on to us."
