Discovering Soulful Salvage in Grant

We are learning about a business on main street in Grant called Soulful Salvage.

It was started by Lisa Jones, Monica Poppe, Billie Muehlenkamp, Becky Fisher, and Michelle Wendell, and it is located in a former flower shop along main street in the Perkins County seat. Michelle passed away in 2015, but the four others are continuing on, while keeping her in their thoughts. Lisa Jones says the ladies are all from the Grant area for the most part, and they have known each other for a long time. They first started the business in 2013.

The store has a very positive feeling when you walk inside, and you can expect to find home design treasures there that are vintage, anitque or re-purposed.

"We do shows, we go out to Denver, the Paris Street Market, the Horseshoe Market, we do the Heirloom Market in Bridgeport, and we've been to Junkstock in Omaha," Jones said.

Some of the items in the store are found, but Jones says some of the items are made by the ladies at the store. One example is a coffee table made from an old floor grate. Jones says the four ladies like the same style, but do different things, which makes the store work.

"We have good customers in Grant and the surrounding areas have been really good to us. Imperial, Ogallala, Holyoke, they come through," Jones said. "And, we'll catch a lot of summer traffic as people go to the Lake (McConaughy)," Jones said. Soulful Salvage might be a good stop for you if you're traveling through Southwest Nebraska.
