Grand Island man faces federal drug charge

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) The United States Attorney is charging a Grand Island man in federal court for meth possession.

Juan Guzman, 28, is charged with possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of methamphetamine on December 21, 2018. The maximum possible penalty if convicted is Life imprisonment, $10,000,000 fine, 5-year term of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

Grand Island police responded to a report of gunshots when they found Guzman at his home in the 800 block of West 12th Street.

When officers checked the house, they found a large quantity of methamphetamine, a digital scale, packaging material and several marijuana plants

They also found a marijuana growing operation and a gun which he was not allowed to have.

Guzman was arrested at the time for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possessing a firearm during drug transaction, manufacturing marijuana and possession drug paraphernalia.
