Falling bullet bounces off concrete, hits boy watching fireworks

The Lincoln Police Department said a falling bullet hit a downtown Lincoln parking garage, bounced off concrete, and hit a 13-year-old boy watching fireworks with his dad.

Police said the boy was not hurt.

It happened around 10:30 Tuesday night shortly after the Uncle Sam Jam fireworks display. The boy was on top of the red parking garage near Pinnacle Arena Drive and R Street.

Police said the father and son were watching fireworks on the top of the garage when a falling bullet landed on the concrete, bounced up, and hit the boy.

Lincoln police are investigating.
